About Lori Brooks
Lori Brooks is the founder and CEO of Managed Medical Transport; a long-distance medical transportation company headquartered in Georgia with an additional operating hub in Arizona. MMT serves patients throughout the continental United States and Canada.
Lori brings more than four decades of experience in emergency medical services, ambulance operations and medical transportation.
She began her career as an EMT and later became a paramedic, providing direct patient care on ground ambulances as well as private air ambulance flights. She went on to become Vice President of Operations for Central Ambulance Service in Atlanta, where she helped develop and expand new service territories from Georgia into Tennessee.
Following Central Ambulance Service’s acquisition by American Medical Response (AMR), Brooks remained in upper management with responsibility for operations across Tennessee and North Georgia.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration from Dalton State College, graduating magna cum laude.
In 1997, Lori founded Managed Medical Transport after recognizing the need for a specialized option between traditional ambulance transportation and ordinary non-emergency transportation.
Under her leadership, MMT developed a long-distance transportation model focused primarily on trips of 300 miles or more, including state-to-state, cross-country and U.S.-Canada transports.
Her background combines frontline clinical care, medical flight experience, healthcare administration, multi-state ambulance operations and nearly three decades of ownership and leadership at MMT.
Today, Lori continues to oversee a company built specifically around the operational, logistical and patient care demands of long-distance medical transportation.
